BOOKING INFORMATION
To ensure fairness, we only accept applications via our independent third party platforms. Places are allocated strictly on a first‑come, first‑served basis.

Taster sessions

Tutor: Jennie Kimbley

Details: Our pottery taster sessions offer a friendly and relaxed introduction to working with clay. Designed for complete beginners, each session includes the chance to try both hand building techniques and throwing on the wheel. In a small group, you’ll benefit from plenty of one-to-one guidance and hands-on support. It’s the perfect opportunity to explore your creativity and get a feel for the pottery process in a welcoming studio environment.

4-Week Beginners Throwing Summer Course

Tutor: Jennie Kimbley

Details: This 4-week summer course is perfect for beginners looking to learn the fundamentals of throwing on the potter’s wheel. You’ll be guided through key skills including preparing clay, centering on the wheel, throwing basic forms, and trimming your pots. With demonstrations and support throughout, you’ll build confidence and skills week by week. At the end of the course, you can select your two favourite pieces to be glazed, ready for collection within six weeks.

Things to Know

Booking Policy
Due to high demand, we’re unable to take pre-bookings or sign-ups via phone or email. All bookings must be made online to keep the process fair for everyone.

Cancelling Your Place
Course fees are non-refundable once your course has either sold out or started. Please ensure you're able to attend the full course before booking.
If you’re no longer able to attend, let us know as soon as possible and we’ll do our best to help. A refund can only be issued if we’re able to find someone to take your place.

Missed Lessons
Our courses are designed to follow a weekly progression. Unfortunately, missed sessions cannot be rescheduled or refunded, even in cases of illness or self-isolation, as all courses run at full capacity and we do not have spare places.
Please check your availability before booking and aim to attend all scheduled dates.

Moving Between Classes
As our classes are usually full, we’re unable to transfer bookings between different course dates or groups. Please make sure you choose the right session at the time of booking.

Waiting Lists
Courses often sell out quickly and we’re unable to operate waiting lists.

Tarragon smith

Born in Canada, Tarragon now lives and works in the UK. He holds an MA in Fine Art from Central Saint Martins, London, and a BFA with a minor in art history from the Nova Scotia College of Art and Design, Canada.

JENNIE KIMBLEY

Jennie is a passionate and skilled teacher with a Diploma in Ceramics and a PGCE (teaching qualification). With a patient and enthusiastic teaching style, she creates a supportive and encouraging environment that’s perfect for beginners. Jennie will guide you through each step of the throwing process, helping you build confidence whilst developing your knowledge and skills.
