4-Weeks Beginners Throwing Course – October 2025

Tutor: Jennie Kimbley

Details: This 4-week course is perfect for beginners looking to learn the fundamentals of throwing on the potter’s wheel. You’ll be guided through key skills including preparing clay, centering on the wheel, throwing basic forms, and trimming your pots. With demonstrations and support throughout, you’ll build confidence and skills week by week. At the end of the course, you can select your two favourite pieces to be glazed, ready for collection within six weeks.

October throwing taster sessions

Details: Our throwing taster sessions offer a friendly and relaxed introduction to throwing on the wheel. Designed for beginners, in a small group, you’ll benefit from plenty of guidance and hands-on support. It’s the perfect opportunity to explore your creativity and get a feel for the wheel in a welcoming studio environment.

Due to the high level of interest in our courses, we suggest you book as soon as possible to avoid disappointment. Make sure you choose the right level and can make most dates. No swaps, refunds, or transfers for missed sessions. Things to Know

Booking Policy
Due to high demand, we’re unable to take pre-bookings or sign-ups via phone or email. All bookings must be made online to keep the process fair for everyone.

Cancelling Your Place
Course fees are non-refundable once your course has either sold out or started. Please ensure you're able to attend the full course before booking.
If you’re no longer able to attend, let us know as soon as possible and we’ll do our best to help. A refund can only be issued if we’re able to find someone to take your place.

Missed Lessons
Our courses are designed to follow a weekly progression. Unfortunately, missed sessions cannot be rescheduled or refunded, even in cases of illness or self-isolation, as all courses run at full capacity and we do not have spare places.
Please check your availability before booking and aim to attend all scheduled dates.

Moving Between Classes
As our classes are usually full, we’re unable to transfer bookings between different course dates or groups. Please make sure you choose the right session at the time of booking.

Waiting Lists
Courses often sell out quickly and we’re unable to operate waiting lists.
